The foldable smartphone market has witnessed the launch of the HONOR Magic V6 and the OPPO Find N6. We’ll be seeing more foldables come our way in the coming months, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Wide, and new models from Vivo and Xiaomi. A new leak now offers us more details regarding the Vivo X Fold 6 and the Xiaomi Mix Fold.
Vivo X Fold 6 camera and battery details surface in a new leak
Weibo tipster “The Panda is Bald” claims the next major foldables coming up are the Vivo X Fold 6 and the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5. Let’s start with the former. He notes that it could feature one of the largest batteries on a foldable phone. And, despite that, the phone will apparently maintain an extremely thin and lightweight design. The foldable will reportedly house a 200MP primary camera, which has become a trend on flagship phones these days. This also reiterates an early rumor from November last year.
While that’s everything revealed in this leak, previous rumors point towards a massive 7,000mAh battery. If true, this will be a significant upgrade over the 6,000mAh battery in the Vivo X Fold 5. It also edges out the OPPO Find N6, which has a 6,000mAh cell.
Though rumors point to Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, the possibility of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 cannot be ruled out. To recall, the Vivo X Fold 5 debuted in June last year, so there’s a chance the successor could also arrive around the same time, if not slightly early.
Xiaomi’s next foldable may debut with an in-house chip
Moving on to the next foldable, we have the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5. Though some rumors call it Xiaomi 17 Fold as well. Either way, the latest leak claims the foldable may feature an upgraded version of Xiaomi’s in-house chip. Again, this isn’t the first time we’re hearing this. A recent report said that the company’s next foldable will come with Xiaomi Xring O3 processor. It will succeed the Xring 01, which went official last year.
The Weibo tipster in the comments further notes that Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable will arrive in Q3 (between July and September). This falls in line with a recent report, which said that Xiaomi’s foldable has been delayed until July. Since Xiaomi usually debuts its numbered-series foldables in September, the foldable is likely to debut in July. Although we can’t be certain.
