Samsung’s next major OS upgrade, One UI 8.5, seems to be shaping up quite well. The company launched the beta program for multiple Galaxy devices earlier this month, including mid-range A-series models. Among them are the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A36, which are now receiving the One UI 8.5 beta 2 update. The fresh update is currently rolling out in India.

The One UI 8.5 beta 2 update to the Galaxy A55 weighs 484.24MB in size and carries the firmware version A556EXXUEZZDC. As for what’s new, the second One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy A55 brings five changes, or rather fixes, as per the screenshot of the changelog. It fixes an issue where Bluetooth Autoscan does not work when entering Bluetooth. It improved the sluggishness/delay when lowering the Quick Panel.Â
The update fixed the issue that the FUN mode lens and preview screen do not match. It fixed an issue where the name change was not saved after editing the name of a newly created filter in Macro > Filter. Lastly, it fixed an issue where the filter menu was briefly activated when switching to the rear 50MP camera with the front filter set.

Meanwhile, the One UI 8.5 beta 2 for the Galaxy A36 comes in at 647.69MB and carries firmware version A366EXXU8ZZD7. It brings four changes, including Bluetooth Autoscan not working. Much like on the Galaxy A55, it improves the sluggishness/delay when lowering the Quick Panel issue even here. Besides these two, the beta 2 update fixes an issue that overlaps the message input window with the navigation bar. Lastly, there’s a fix to the System UI ANR issues after FOTA.Â
If you are using either phone, you can check for the update from Settings > Software update > Download and install. Needless to say, the One UI 8.5 beta 2 update is available only for those who have enrolled in the beta program. You can register for the beta program from the Samsung Members app, where you’ll see a banner.Â
