vivo has officially confirmed that its upcoming X500 series, set to be announced next Monday, will be powered by MediaTek’s recently announced Dimensity 9600 Pro. This is MediaTek’s next-generation 2nm chipset that will also be powering the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max.
With this new chipset, MediaTek is using a dual super-large-core CPU design, while vivo has worked with MediaTek on a chip-level AP Demura 2.0 correction. The company says that this helps to reduce uneven brightness across the display at the chip level.
The X500 series also set to get professional LOG video support built right into theh chip, which allows for 4K video at 120fps with 10-bit LOG output directly from the phone. So there’s no need to have an external reader. Of course, vivo will continue to use its own imaging chip with the Dimensity 9600 Pro, that’s the Blueprint imaging chip. This is what really makes vivo’s cameras standout compared to the competition.
vivo is announcing the X500 series on September 21
On Monday, vivo will be announcing the X500 series in China. Marking the first phone launching on the Android side with a 2nm chipset inside. The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo all have a 2nm chip in the A20 Pro as well.
OPPO is set to announce the Find X10 series in China the day after vivo. This means that the new crop of phones with the newest processors are upon us. As Qualcomm is announcing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 at Snapdragon Summit next week as well. Of course, we’ll have a load of phones coming with that new chip very soon as well. Typically, Xiaomi is first with the new Snapdragon chip, but keeps it to China only until MWC in March.
