Earlier this afternoon Samsung began pushing out an update to the Game Booster app on the Galaxy S26 family, and now it’s also reportedly pushing out an update to the same family of devices that introduces the next One UI 9.0 beta 5 update release. One UI 9.0 hasn’t fully been rolled out to existing devices that were launched earlier this year or prior. Samsung did launch the One UI 9.0 software with the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, though.
For Galaxy S26 users, the update should be hitting the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. SamMobile reports that this beta release is launching in India first, and that it has a file size of 851.54MB. Since this is rolling it out in India first, US users and users in other regions can check to see if the update is available manually. SamMobile also expects that other regions outside of India will get the update by the end of the day.
The One UI 9.0 beta 5 release for Galaxy S26 series phones brings four smaller fixes
Users that were hoping for a bunch of new features and changes with this release based on its larger file size are in for disappointment as the release introduces just four changes, and all of them are focused on fixing an issue that was introduced in previous versions of the beta software.
One of those changes improves usability with the camera widget. Samsung notes that this release improves an issue where a display error occurs for the camera widget in specific paths. Another improves an issue “where images are saved differently at specific focal lengths when shooting with Expert RAW 24MP.”
The remaining two changes are improvements for a display error with the Now Brief widget, and improvements for a display error with the home screen.
