Samsung’s new foldalbes have proven to be a real hit during the pre-order period, not only in Korea but worldwide. They’ve broken all sorts of records, and in Korea, the devices even outsold the Galaxy S series pre-orders and thus became the company’s most pre-ordered smartphone series ever.
With that being said, a recent report claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series in specific markets managed to steal quite a few iPhone users. Now we have a US-specific report that is quite interesting.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is crushing it in the US, the sales are high
Samsung announced that its new fodlables are very popular in the US. That specially goes for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Samsung says that they’re “consistently tracking 30% ahead of the Galaxy Z Fold 7,” even after the pre-order period ended.
The company also confirmed that the two phones make up roughly 80% of current Galaxy Z series purchases. Samsung even shared some reasons why users opted to purchase one of these two phones.
It is said that the designs of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series resonates with users. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 shoppers were “especially drawn to its thin and light design for greater portability, while also valuing its inner display for multitasking and content that better fills the screen.”
When it comes to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, “shoppers preferred its expansive screen, giving them more working space without the need for a separate tablet.”
30% of Galaxy Z Flip 8 buyers are switching from other brands
Samsung also noted that 30% of Galaxy Z Flip 8 buyers are switching from competing brands. Most of those buyers are first-time foldable owners, it has been reported.
To top it all off, Samsung confirmed that more than three times as many Z Flip users are upgrading to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra devices compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
