The newest version of Android Canary which is version 2608 and will eventually turn into a stable software update pushed out to phones, includes new customization capabilities for the Quick Settings panel on Pixel devices. This build of the Android software is not meant for the everyday user as the Canary builds are extremely experimental and still in development. However, users can still access the software build and install it if they have the desire to do so.
Android Canary 2608 will be compatible with every current Pixel phone that’s still getting software support. This includes the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, but it’s also reported that this build will be the last one available for these two devices when it turns into a stable software update that goes out over the air to users. Other supported devices include the Pixel 6a, Pixel Tablet, and every Pixel phone up to the Pixel 10 series devices.
Android Canary 2608 will let you create AI-generated lockscreen clocks
As reported by 9To5Google, this new build of Android has quite a few customization options for the Quick Settings panel, but it also includes some love for the lockscreen. Specifically, the build will include the ability to create lockscreen clocks using AI. An AI-generated lockscreen clock feature will let users enter a prompt and have AI create the clock for you. There will also be an ability to store your saved clocks and swap between them.
As for the Quick Settings panel customization, it isn’t as deep as you might think. You’ll be able to reorganize the brightness bar, media player, and the tiles you have selected. The tiles are all lumped into one block, so you can move the whole group of them. For example, if you want the brightness bar on the very bottom, you’ll be able to move it there. Google is also bringing back the App lock feature.
