Google Keep is an excellent app for taking notes. It does a great job and the fact that it’s free makes it even better. But if you use it a lot and have very long notes, that’s when it gets a bit problematic. Thankfully, Google is here with a fix by releasing a new “Find in note” feature for Google Keep.
Google Keep gets new “Find in note” feature
Now, as it stands, you can search for your notes in Google Keep. That feature has been there pretty much forever. But once you open a note, that’s different. If you’re the sort of person that keeps short notes, like reminders, grocery lists, movies to watch, and so on, it’s not an issue.
However, if you’re the kind of user that types up long notes or keeps adding to existing notes, then it gets tricky. What if you needed to find something within that note? That’s what the new Google Keep “Find in note” feature is for. All you have to do is open up an existing note, tap the three-dot overflow menu, and tap “Find in note.” Then type in whatever it is you’re searching for, maybe a word or sentence, and it’ll pull it up for you.
This is genuinely a useful feature and we have to wonder why Google didn’t release it sooner. Google was actually working on it back in 2025, so it looks like it’s finally ready for the masses. As for availability, 9to5Google says that this is available for version 5.26.331.02.90 of Google Keep for Android. It also appears to be a server-side update, meaning you don’t need to update the app to get it. Just make sure you’re running the latest version and you’re all set.

That being said, this isn’t the only change coming to Google Keep. Earlier this month, there was evidence to suggest that Google could be planning to give the UI a makeover. However, it doesn’t look like this is part of the update so the UI makeover will probably come at a later date.
