The popular fitness wearable Whoop has received a big update to its platform, which adds on-demand doctors. It is bringing live video consultations with licensed clinicians to its app. The feature is currently available for Whoop users in the US. Moreover, the company has also introduced a few new AI features to make its health coaching more personal. A new rugged wristband, built for outdoor sports, is also available.
Whoop users can speak with medical professionals and easily manage their health records
Starting this summer, Whoop wearable users can pay an extra amount to talk with on-demand doctors through live video calls in the tracker’s app. Thanks to the update, the medical professional will get access to months of your health data, which will give them a clear picture of your health. They will get access to data like daily heart rate, sleeping habits, and recovery stats.
The tech firm has collaborated with HealthEx for the on-demand doctors functionality. The latter will connect users with licensed doctors directly through Whoop’s platform. The system uses your health history and fitness data to show how treatments or medications affect your body over time. Thanks to the update, Whoop will give stiff competition to Google’s Fitbit Air. Here’s how they compare right now – Fitbit Air vs Whoop 5.0.
The fitness firm is also making its digital coach smarter
Whoop will also make its digital coach smarter through a new feature called My Memory. You’ll be able to give the AI specific details about your health and lifestyle, which will offer better workout and recovery advice based on your daily routine. There’s another new functionality dubbed Proactive Check-ins, which will offer you enhanced sleep or training tips before a major event or after a long flight.
Finally, the brand has launched a new rugged strap called Navigator Band. The company is targeting users who want a stronger band for outdoor activities. The new strap features a tough fabric blend and a rugged steel clasp to avoid any damage.
Whoop has priced the new band at $79 and will sell it in two colors. It is compatible with the Whoop 5.0 and the Whoop MG tracker.
