vivo’s marketing machine is in overtime now, as it gets closer and closer to the launch of the X Fold 6 later this month. Earlier this week, we saw the vivo X Fold 6 appear at the French Open, and now we’re seeing a video showcasing OriginOS 6 on the X Fold 6.
This video was posted to Weibo and shows highlights of the new multi-window capabilities of OriginOS 6 on the X Fold 6. This also shows off the new Parallel Mode that will let you run up to four apps at the same time on a single screen. All four apps would remain active in windowed form and can run in the foreground at the same time.
vivo also says that they have completely redesigned the underlying framework of OriginOS 6 Fold to make sure that four apps can operate concurrently without compromising performance or smoothness.
This is going to take OPPO’s incredible multi-window mode, Boundless View, and give it some real competition for the best multi-window software on a foldable. Currently, OPPO lets you use up to four apps, but they are off-screen as OPPO is letting you keep them in 18:9 aspect ratio. Whereas vivo is now going to let you use them in a quarter of the screen space. This is going to make the vivo X Fold 6 a true productivity powerhouse.
vivo’s X Fold 6 is shaping up to be a beast of a foldable
The vivo X Fold 6 is rumored to be released on June 25, so we’ve got about two weeks before it goes official. Though surprisingly, vivo has not said anything official about it. It is shaping up to be one of the better foldables released this year, and the only one running on a MediaTek chipset.
That’s right, the X Fold 6 is going to be running the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset with a massive 6,900mAh capacity battery. Considering how much more efficient the Dimensity 9500 has already been in my own testing, I have high hopes for battery life on this one.
vivo is also outfitting it with an 8-inch inner display and a 6.51-inch cover display, like most other foldables on the market today.
