The Android Show I/O Edition is starting in a couple of hours, and you’ll be able to watch it live. As its name says, this event will be focused on Android, and it’s a part of Google I/O, in a way. It does come a week before Google I/O 2026, though.

The livestream link is embedded below, for your convenience, in case you’d like to follow along. Google actually said that 2026 will be “one of the biggest years for Android yet”, which does sound quite exciting.
The event will start at 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST / 7 PM CET / 6 PM BST, just so you know when to tune in. Google is expected to present a consumer-focused announcement during the event, but we still don’t know what exactly, though.
Last year’s Android Show was very exciting, actually, as Material 3 Expressive was announced, along with many other announcements related to Gemini, Android Auto, Wear OS, Google TV, and Android 16.
Android 17 will be a part of it, for sure
So, what will be getting this year? The iridescent Android logo in Google’s teaser is not exactly revealing. Google’s exec already confirmed that it does not represent a Liquid Glass-like UI redesign, or anything like that. Google is sticking with its UI philosophy.
That confirmation came from Sameer Samat, President of the Android ecosystem at Google, so it’s officially official. We are expecting to see some Android 17 information during the event, which will likely include Gemini in one way or another.
The event surely won’t be all Android 17-focused, though, so… it remains to be seen. Google likely packed a lot into this, as a warm-up for Google I/O next week. As a reminder, Google I/O 2026 is taking place exactly 1 week after the Android Show, on May 19 at 7 AM PST.
