Google’s Snapseed app was supercharged earlier this year with full in-app camera, Pro manual controls, and film simulations, inspired by several brands like Kodak, Polaroid, Fujifilm, and more. The app, from being just an editing app, turned into an all-in-one shoot-and-edit app. As weird as it sounds, the update, part of version 3.15.0, first arrived on iOS, leaving Android users in the dark. After a months-long wait, it seems the tables are finally turning, as the new Snapseed app experience with version 4.0 is finally coming to Android.
The Snapseed 4.0 app is coming to Android and iOS later this week
The Snapseed 4.0 experience is coming to Android and iOS this week. The announcement comes from Giles Ochs, Snapseed’s product lead, who posted an Instagram video. The short clip shows multiple comments from users asking when the refreshed Snapseed experience is coming to Android. Towards the end of the clip, Ochs replies to a user, “See you this week?”
There’s also a card at the end that says: Snapseed 4.0 out on iOS and Android this week. Ochs’ caption for the Instagram is also in a similar tone: “The wait is almost over. Snapseed 4.0.” Well, it’s about time Google brings the Android version of Snapseed. This is considering the iOS version has been out for months already.

The full list of features coming is not yet
This is definitely welcome news for those who have been patiently waiting for the revamped Snapseed experience to make its way to Android phones. It (on iOS) offers native camera support, so you no longer have to take a photo using a separate app and edit it on Snapseed later. Google isn’t skimping on camera features either. The iOS experience offers settings for exposure, focus, and shutter speed under the “PRO” toggle.
For those looking to make their pictures fun and unique, the app offers a handful of film simulations. There are several styles from Kodak, Fujifilm, Technicolor, and others. That said, Snapseed 4.0’s feature list for Android is not out yet. But since it’s been teased to arrive this week, we don’t have to wait for long.
