Samsung has been hinting at more wearable devices for over a year now, specifically glasses. They were even shown as an icon during Unpacked back in January 2025. So it’s quite clear that Samsung is working on these new glasses, and now the company has hinted at it again in their recent earnings call.
Seong Cho, EVP of Samsung MX said that the company “plans to deliver immersive multimodal AI experiences through diverse form factors such as AI glasses.”
Earlier this week, we leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy Glasses based on real-life pictures of a working prototype, so we know mostly what they’re going to look like. And it’s not a huge surprise. They look like a normal pair of glasses, with a camera on them.
Samsung and Google are both looking to strengthen the Android XR lineup this year, with both companies rumored to be launching their own smart glasses this year – Gucci is also throwing its hat into the ring.
Samsung is actually planning to launch two pairs of its Galaxy Glasses. One would launch this year as audio glasses, so there’s no screen, just the camera and a speaker over your ears. Think of it as a direct competitor to Meta Ray-Ban. Then, a display version launching next year, competing with the Meta Ray-Ban Display.
Samsung also teased the Galaxy Buds Able
Samsung could also be jumping into the clip-style earbud craze with the new Galaxy Buds Able. Virtually every other brand has jumped on this craze already, so it’s a bit strange to see Samsung launching so late. These would be a pair of truly wireless earbuds that clip onto your ears like a pair of earrings.
Finally, Samsung also revealed that it believes the memory chip supply constraints could worsen in 2027. Leading to higher smartphone prices and reduced sales. Samsung is planning to offset this by increasing sales of high-end smartphones. While the company also expects that shipments of tablets and laptops will decline, too.
