After a lot of leaks and even an official listing on the company’s website, Samsung has now officially announced the Galaxy A27 5G smartphone. This is the company’s new budget device.
The phone’s design is not a surprise at all, mainly due to previous leaks, but even without them, this phone is obviously made by Samsung. It has a flat display with a centered display camera hole up top. Its frame is flat all around, and the physical buttons sit on the right-hand side.
On the back, you’ll notice a flat backplate, along with a vertical, pill-shaped camera island. Inside that camera island, you’ll spot three cameras. The entire module protrudes on the back, by the way.

The Samsung Galaxy A27 comes in four colors: Black, Blue, Light Green, and Light Pink. Before we get into specs, let’s just mention one of this phone’s main selling points, six years of updates. That goes for Android OS updates, not just security updates. Not many budget phones offer such support.
This handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, which is Qualcomm’s 4nm chip for more affordable devices. That chip is backed by 6GB or 8GB of RAM, depending on the model you get. The 6GB RAM is tied to 128GB of storage, while the 8GB RAM model comes in both 128GB and 256GB storage options. You can even expand the storage via a microSD card up to 2TB.
The device features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, and its refresh rate goes up to 120Hz. Android 16 comes pre-installed on the device, along with One UI 8.5, Samsung’s Android skin. A ton of features are included in One UI 8.5. That goes for Circle to Search, Object Eraser, Voice Transcription, AI assistants, and so on.ž
It includes a 5,000mAh battery and 25W wired charging
A 5,000mAh battery is included inside the Galaxy A27 5G, and the phone supports 25W wired charging. Wireless charging, on the other hand, is not supported here, but that was to be expected.
A 50-megapixel main camera sits on the back, and it has OIS support. It is backed by a 5-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front, you’ll find a 12-megapixel snapper.
The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G is IP64 certified, while it measures 162.4 x 78.2 x 7.8mm, and weighs 200 grams. The phone will start becoming available on July 3 in select markets. The price has not been revealed.
This phone’s price will be an important factor, needless to say. If it’s low enough, it may make the device quite appealing. If not, the opposite will happen. The software support that Samsung is promising is hard to beat, though, and many people may opt for it for that alone.
