Way back in early 2025, Nintendo and the Pokémon Company announced a new game coming to Nintendo Switch called Pokémon Champions, and the launch of that game has just hit mobile devices as of June 17, 2026. This game launched for Nintendo Switch back in April of this year. April 8, to be specific. It also launched for the Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day.
Nintendo had confirmed that the game would be launching for Android and iOS devices at some point. But it wouldn’t be at the same time as the Nintendo release. Thankfully, you no longer have to continue waiting if you like playing these kinds of games on a mobile device. Because as of June 17, the launch of Pokémon Champions has hit both Android and iOS devices.
Pokémon Champions does launch with cross save support
Nintendo has confirmed that cross save is supported with Pokémon Champions on mobile devices. That means if you started your journey with this game on either the Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2, you can carry that save data over. This makes it extremely valuable as a mobile game because you can move your gameplay between devices seamlessly. You might want to play on the Switch 2 in docked mode at home for example.
But maybe you have to leave the house for a few hours and still want to play, but don’t want to bring your Switch 2. No matter. You can pop out your phone and play on that. The game also supports Pokémon Home. So, you can transfer some of your Pokémon from other games to Pokémon Champions and use them in battles. Which is pretty cool if you’ve built up a large collection.
There are micro transactions for this game but as Tech Radar mentions, they’re not so much in your face. In other words they aren’t being forced on you. So, it seems you can have quite a bit of fun at no cost. You can download the game from the Google Play Store on Android devices.
