According to a new report, the OnePlus 16 is getting a truly high refresh rate, but it may not be the only one. OnePlus is allegedly bringing 185Hz displays to both its flagship and mid-range smartphones.
Upcoming flagship & mid-range phones from OnePlus to offer 185Hz displays
The information comes from Smart Pikachu, a well-known tipster. He claims that displays with a 185Hz refresh rate will be available across the company’s product line, including both flagship and mid-range devices.
That obviously includes the OnePlus 16, as we’ve seen rumors about that quite a few times thus far. This rumor, however, hints that the OnePlus 16R could also end up offering one such display.
OnePlus is allegedly not planning to stop there, as 240Hz displays have been mentioned for future models. The company wants displays on its smartphones to be as smooth as possible.
The OnePlus 16 will also have extremely narrow bezels
Having said that, some OnePlus 16 information did surface not long ago. It will have a 6.78-inch display, allegedly, and that display will be made by BOE. It’s said to sport the narrowest bezels, which will measure less than 1mm.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro will fuel the OnePlus 16, based on what we’ve seen thus far. That is to be expected, as OnePlus always uses the most powerful processor Qualcomm has to offer.
As for the OnePlus 16R, that mid-ranger is expected to include a 9,000mAh battery. The phone is also said to support 100W wired charging, by the way. An active cooling fan could also be a part of the package.
Let’s hope we’ll get both of those phones in Europe and the US
All of this sounds great, we just hope that both of those smartphones will make their way to the global markets. Reports surrounding OnePlus and its presence in the US and Europe are not encouraging. The company is allegedly even scaling back in some other global markets. So, we’re not sure what will be the fate of the OnePlus 16 and OnePlus 16R in those markets.
