NVIDIA has just announced the RTX Spark, a 1-Petaflop Superchip at Computex 2026. NVIDIA says that this chip will power the “world’s first Windows PCs purpose-built for personal agents.”
The RTX Spark is a 1 petaflop superchip with full-stack NVIDIA AI and graphics tech
The chip features 1 petaflop of AI performance, industry-leading power efficiency, full-stack NVIDIA AI and graphics tech, and up to 128GB of unified memory.
This processor will allow AI developers and gamers to render “ultralarge 90GB+ 3D scenes, edit 12K 4:2:2 video, generate 4K AI videos, run 120B-parameter LLMs with up to 1 million tokens context using agents locally, and play AAA games at 1440p and over 100 frames per second.”
The company says that the chip brings together 30 years of its innovation. That includes NVIDIA CUDA, NVIDIA RTX, DLSS, FP4, NVIDIA TensorRT, NVIDIA OptiX, Reflex, and G-SYNC. It’s aimed at slim Windows laptops with all-day battery life and small ultra-efficient desktop PCs, says NVIDIA.
NVIDIA says that “the PC is being reinvented”
NVIDIA used a lot of big words for this announcement. A phrase “a New Beginning for Personal Computers” was used, as well as “the PC is being reinvented” phrase. NVIDIA is immensely proud of this processor.
The NVIDIA RTX Spark comes with 20 CPU cores, custom-designed by NVIDIA and MediaTek. It also comes with 6,144 CUDA cores based on the Blackwell architecture. This is an Arm-based chip, in case you didn’t know.
This chip’s integrated GPU is roughly equivalent to the NVIDIA RTX 5070 GPU, it is said. One of MSI’s employees pointed in that direction. Needless to say, that’s great to hear, and it’s also quite surprising at the same time.
Microsoft’s CEO was full of praise for the chip
Microsoft’s CEO had something to say as well. He said that Microsoft’s goal is “to deliver unmetered intelligence to every home and every desk with Windows.” He also added that the “RTX Spark marks a real breakthrough towards that vision.”
The NVIDIA RTX Spark delivers the full NVIDIA AI and graphics technology stack to creators, AI developers, and gamers, the company says.
The RTX Spark laptops and compact desktops will become available starting this fall. NVIDIA named a number of companies that will make such products, including ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface, and MSI. Models from Acer and GIGABYTE will also follow.
