The specs of the next wide non-foldable smartphone have just surfaced. The phone in question comes from OPPO, though we still don’t know its name. This information comes from Digital Chat Station, by the way.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600M chip will fuel OPPO’s first non-folding wide phone
The information is based on the engineering sample that OPPO has at the moment. The MediaTek Dimensity 9600M chip fuels the device. It is basically a repackaged Dimensity 9500 with a different name.
This phone also has two 200-megapixel cameras. The tipster also noted that one of them uses the ISOCELL HPE sensor, while the second uses the ISOCELL HP5 sensor from Samsung. Those are 1/1.4-inch and 1/1.56-inch sensors, respectively.
Two 200MP cameras will be backed by an 8,000mAh battery
The phone also has an 8,000mAh battery on the inside. That battery is huge regardless the display size on a phone, but this handset also has a rather compact display at 6.35 inches.
That is an 8T LTPO flat display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The phone also hides an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the display.
The display size will be similar to the one on the Huawei Pura X View
That 6.35-inch display may not seem big, but keep in mind this is a wide phone. If the Huawei Pura X View is plenty for you, then this one will be too, as the Pura X View has a 6.39-inch panel. They’re similar in terms of size.
We’re not sure when this phone will arrive, though. That is anyone’s guess, as this is the first phone of its kind, so who knows where OPPO will slot it in. It could arrive with a wide foldable in Q1 2027, or sooner than that. I doubt OPPO will wait longer than that. That’s just an educated guess, though.
