The launch of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 11 Aura Edition laptop is finally here for US consumers, boasting a battery life that can last all day and then some while providing users with a machine that can handle their day-to-day tasks with ease. The newly available laptop is a 2-in-1 which means it’s usable like a regular laptop, but you can also flip it around and have access to just the touch display. This works well for everything from watching videos to sharing spreadsheets or presentations with others.
The laptop comes with up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. RAM is soldered on so you can’t really swap it out if you need more, which is a shame for PC enthusiasts who like to tinker. But 32GB is a decent amount of RAM to begin with, especially if this is meant to be a work laptop or one for more casual use with students. While this isn’t meant for gaming, Lenovo does have two new gaming devices on the way with its upcoming Legion Phone and the new Legion Tab Gen 5.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Gen 11 Aura Edition launch starts at $2,528
Lenovo’s new ThinkPad X1 Gen 11 Aura Edition isn’t cheap, and part of that could be due to the RAM shortage and the supply shortage of other components. Those shortages are causing semiconductor manufacturers to increase prices for product manufacturers, and companies like Lenovo could in turn be raising prices on hardware like this laptop. While that’s certainly a potential factor, this is also a business laptop and isn’t really intended for everyday average consumers. You could certainly buy one, though, if it’s the type of laptop you’re looking for.
What’s neat about this laptop for work and study purposes is that it comes with the Lenovo Slim Pen 2. So you can easily mark up documents or other things on the screen. The pen also magnetically attaches to the laptop and will charge when it’s docked like that. So this is a nifty way to keep the pen in place and not lose it, while also making sure it has power for the next use. The laptop has several ports including three USB-C and one USB-A, as well as HDMI and an audio jack. The laptop can be picked up directly from Lenovo.
