The Google Pixel Watch 5 officially launched on August 20, but one version of it that wasn’t available until now was the Stephen Curry Special Edition inspired by the Fitbit Air Stephen Curry edition, which comes in a slightly different finish and band combination than other versions that were available over a week ago.
The Stephen Curry Special Edition of the Google Pixel Watch 5 comes with a different band that you can’t get as a standalone purchase, and that’s one of the main selling points for this model. It’s Google’s Performance Loop band, but it comes in the special edition Rye color. On top of that, the underside of the band, the part that touches the skin on your wrist, has vertical lines that travel the length of the band, and the band itself as a whole has a water-repellent coating to help wick away moisture. In other words it’s more suited for exercise and water sports than the normal performance loop band is.
The Google Pixel Watch 5 Stephen Curry Special Edition is $579.99
If you want the Stephen Curry Special Edition of the Google Pixel Watch 5, you’ll need to pony up a little extra cash, because it costs $579.99 compared to the $399.99 base price. It does come in 45mm, whereas the $399.99 model is 41mm, so that’s one reason for the higher price, the other being the special edition band.
Other than that, this version of the watch is the exact same as the other versions, but it does have that nicer band. Google will sell this version of the watch directly online at the Google Store, but you’ll also be able to pick it up through Amazon as it’s one of Google retail partners. You may also be able to pick it up through other online retailers like Best Buy, and anywhere else that’s selling the Pixel Watch 5.
