There’s a good chance the power bank in your bag is made using a lithium-ion battery. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but if you’re looking for a power bank that uses more advanced battery tech, at IFA 2026, Belkin has taken the wraps off two new power banks made with semi-solid-state batteries.
Belkin unveils new power banks at IFA 2026
At IFA 2026, Belkin announced the UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank with BoostSolid Cell and the UltraCharge Pro Power Bank with BoostSolid Cell and Display.
The former features a 5,000mAh battery with Qi2-certified 15W magnetic wireless charging. This means you can stick it onto the back of an iPhone or a Qi2 compatible phone and charge it wirelessly. There’s a USB-C port for wired charging, an LED battery status indicator, and it is made with a metal body. It is priced at $69.99 and is available for pre-order from Belkin’s website.
As for the UltraCharge Pro Power Bank with BoostSolid Cell and Display, this is a larger capacity power bank at 10,000mAh. There is no wireless charging here, but it has an output of up to 60W via USB-C Power Delivery. This means it is powerful enough to juice up not just your phone but also laptops and tablets well. There are dual USB-C ports and a USB-A port, so you can connect more than one device.
There’s also a built-in display that shows real-time battery status, power output, and even thermal monitoring. It is priced at $89.99 and you can pre-order it from Belkin’s website.
What is Belkin’s BoostSolid Cell?
Belkin is no stranger to mobile accessories like cables, chargers, charging docks, and power banks. However, this year Belkin is doing something different with its power banks with semi-solid-state battery technology. On the surface, these look like regular power banks. However, under the hood is where the difference actually matters.
For those unfamiliar, true solid-state batteries do away with the liquid electrolytes found in regular lithium-ion batteries entirely. This liquid is what makes lithium-ion batteries flammable, so removing it makes them a lot safer right out of the box.
Belkin’s BoostSolid Cell isn’t quite that. Rather than eliminating the liquid electrolyte, it adds a gel-like layer alongside it. According to the company, this hybrid approach is what allows for a slimmer, more compact design while still delivering reliable, long-lasting performance. Belkin also claims the batteries will last up to 3x longer than other power banks.
