At WWDC 2026, Apple announced the next major update to its iOS and iPadOS platform: iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. As expected with every major update, Apple also launched new wallpapers to accompany these updates. If you’d like to check them out, you can download the iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 wallpapers below.

These wallpapers are thanks to the folks at 9to5Mac, who managed to extract wallpapers for both iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. With the iPad wallpapers, there are also options for either the landscape or portrait version of the wallpapers. You can choose which you prefer depending on how you use the tablet.
One thing to note is that unlike previous updates, Apple seems to have gone with a more unified theme. If you checked out macOS 27 wallpapers, you’d have noticed that Apple is going with a stylized version of the number “27” in its design. The main differences are the colors, but otherwise thematically, they look similar across the board.
We’re not sure what’s up with the switch-up in design. Maybe it’s a way to signify Apple CEO Tim Cook stepping down and John Ternus stepping into his new role. Either way, you can check out and download the iOS 27 wallpapers below.
What are the changes?
That being said, iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 are introducing a bunch of changes and improvements and new features across the board. However, the main highlight is the new Apple Intelligence and Siri AI. That was pretty much all Apple talked about during its keynote.
Apple Intelligence launched in 2024, and it was met poorly. This is because Apple’s marketing team got ahead of its development team, promising features that weren’t ready yet. The biggest blunder was Siri, which was supposed to be revamped, and it took Apple two years and some help from Google to make it happen.
The demos Apple showed were impressive. The goal was to integrate Apple Intelligence into the software. It allowed users to pull it up anytime they wanted, no matter what app they were using. We’ll have to get our hands on it to see if it lives up to the hype, but for now, it looks promising.
