HONOR Magic 9 series is expected to debut later this year, but the rumor mill is constantly unearthing newer details. Recently, we’ve learned that the phone is being tested with the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and not the upcoming 2nm chips. If that news was disappointing to you, the latest leak offers something more positive to look forward to. According to a Weibo tipster, the HONOR Magic 9 series will support an official stylus accessory.
HONOR Magic 9 series may bring AI-powered stylus support
Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu claims the upcoming HONOR Magic 9 series will get a stylus accessory. This will apparently bring AI-powered features to boost productivity. But he doesn’t go into detail about what features we’ll be seeing. The leak further signals that HONOR has optimized the stylus experience for various third-party productivity apps.
Well, considering this pans out, it marks the first time that HONOR is bringing stylus support to its regular Magic-series flagships. It’ll join the likes of Samsung and Motorola by offering stylus functionality to non-foldable devices. For context, HONOR’s existing Magic-Pen accessory is for foldables only.

This could boost productivity
Previous leaks revealed the HONOR Magic 9 would sport a compact 6.39-inch display, which could use an LTPS OLED panel. It could feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The Pro variant in the series may get the 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. It could rock an 8,000mAh + battery, a significant jump from the 7,000mAh cell on the predecessor.Â
In terms of photography, the Magic 9 may get a 64MP periscope telephoto lens using the OmniVision OV64D sensor. It could also feature a 200MP main camera with a 1/2.8-inch large sensor and a 50MP ultrawide lens. The phone may leverage HONOR’s partnership with ARRI to offer an enhanced videography and photography experience.
