The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to arrive in July this year, and some new information about the phone just surfaced. According to a report from Korea, the phone will be crease-free, lighter, and more.
A report by yeux1122, a tipster, claims that the phone will be slightly wider than its predecessor. He also mentions a crease-free foldable OLED display, along with a new hinge as well.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be lighter and wider than its predecessor
On top of that, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is said to be lighter than its predecessor. It will weigh around 180 grams, it is said, compared to 188 grams of the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
He also mentioned that Samsung will not upgrade the battery capacity, nor the charging speed, compared to the previous model. That means we’ll be stuck with a 4,300mAh battery and 25W wired charging.
He notes that the same will be the case with other aspects of the device, speakers, vibration motor, and so on. Samsung will not upgrade those compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The phone is expected to cost slightly more
The last piece of information that the tipster shared has to do with the phone’s price. A “slight price increase” is tipped, as the tipster said that the price is being prepared as we speak. That increase will happen mainly due to memory and component price increases.
We already know what the phone will look like. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 appeared in CAD-based renders last month. The phone will look a lot like its predecessor; Samsung is not exactly reinventing the wheel here.
The phone is expected to utilize the Exynos 2600 processor from Samsung, along with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera. Android 17 will come pre-installed on the device, along with One UI 9.
It’s coming alongside two other foldable phones
The device will launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide aka Samsung’s wider book-style foldable.
