There’s a good chance you’ve heard of the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s red tint issue by now. Samsung acknowledged it and said it’s a software issue, for which a fix is coming. It was a huge relief knowing that it’s not a hardware problem.

We were all wondering when this fix would arrive, and now we may have an answer. A fix for the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s red tint issue could be on the way later this month.
The information is coming from Samsung’s customer support team in Korea. One user from the Samsung Community forum posted a screenshot of a conversation with customer support. The fix is allegedly being evaluated by the verification department.
This issue is occurring due to poor calibration values for the display when the phone is in bright ambient conditions. This upcoming update is aiming to fix that by tweaking the calibration.
The software fix is coming with the next Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware update, and that one is expected to arrive before the end of this month.
A different user received a less encouraging response
What’s interesting here is that the aforementioned user is not the only one who contacted customer support and received a response. Another one did the same, but received a less promising reply from customer support.
This reply also confirms it’s a calibration issue, but it says it can be fixed at Samsung’s service center. It does mention that Samsung is working on a software fix, but it does not say when the update will be rolled out.
Either way, the update is coming soon. If the first reply is accurate, it should be in before the end of the month, with the next update. We’re hoping that’s the case, as quite a few people ended up flagging the red tint issue.
