DXOMark has released its scoring of the Pixel 11 Pro XL, and it’s not all that surprising. The Google Pixel 11 Pro XL scored a 168 in the camera and video tests, which places it 5th in the global rankings and in the Ultra-Premium ranking (this is for $800 and up smartphones).
This position puts it at the same score as the OPPO Find X8 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro from last year. Just two points behind this year’s vivo X300 Ultra and OPPO Find X9 Ultra, but the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra still holds first place with a score of 175, over a year later.
In its test, DXOMark says that the Pixel 11 Pro XL has a “pleasant exposure with extended dynamic range and good highlight preservation in most conditions”. It also mentions that Google has “natural-looking colors and accurate skin tones across a wide range of lighting conditions”. Which is what we also found in our testing of the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL.
How did the Pixel 11 Pro XL compare to its predecessor?
Google did manage to pick up five points versus the Pixel 10 Pro XL last year, which had a score of 163. That’s actually a pretty solid improvement. Which is not surprising, as all of us that have been using the Pixel 11 series this year, has noted that the Pixel 11 Pro models have some really quite but big camera upgrades this year.
This does put the Pixel 11 Pro XL far ahead of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which has a score of 157, putting it in a 7-way tie for 21st globally.
For those of us in the US, this means that the Pixel 11 Pro XL is the best camera you can buy in the US. While it is in fifth place, every phone ahead of it is not available here. That is, until the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max launch next month. This also means that the Pixel 11 Pro XL has dethroned the Motorola Razr Fold as the best Android camera in the US.
