The initial Galaxy S26 sales exceeded expectations, and that trend seems to have continued. Samsung is now boosting Galaxy S26 production because of higher-than-anticipated sales of the three devices.
The Galaxy S26 series is selling twice as fast as the Galaxy S25 series
Believe it or not, the Galaxy S26 series has been selling 2x faster than the Galaxy S25 series in the company’s homeland, South Korea. Samsung has sold over 3 million Galaxy S26 smartphones in Korea within just three months. 117 days, to be exact.
This fact alone makes the Galaxy S26 series the fastest-selling Galaxy S lineup in South Korea. Around 70% of pre-orders were for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, by the way. It is also noted that the sales in the US are strong as well.
It took Samsung around 6 months to sell 3 million Galaxy S25 series models last year. So the Galaxy S26 series got there in half the time, which is immensely impressive.
Because of all this, Samsung is boosting the Galaxy S26 series production target for July to 1.5 million units. The original production target was 1 million units, so that’s a 50% increase.
Samsung managed to boost sales in Korea by a sales event called the ‘Samsung Electronics Appreciation Festival With the People’. During that sales event, the company offered a 20% refund in the form of Digital Onnuri Gift Certificates.
On Samsung’s online store, delivery estimates for the Galaxy S26 phones have slipped to August in Korea due to strong demand. So, it’s not exactly surprising that Samsung decided to increase its production target.
The Android Headlines Take
It will be interesting to see if the company’s upcoming foldables will have a notable effect on the Galaxy S26 series sales. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Galaxy Z Flip 8 are coming on July 22 and are also flagship offerings.
Granted, those are entirely different product types, but still, they may step on the Galaxy S26 series’ toes in the process. Samsung has high hopes for the sales of those foldables as well, and we do think that the company’s first wide foldable will catch the eye of many consumers. Instead of the regular two foldables, Samsung is adding the wide foldable to the lineup.
