Samsung is pushing out the One UI 8.5 beta 2 update to the Galaxy S23 FE. It looks like the beta testing is progressing at a good pace. This comes days after the phone received the April 2026 security patch. To recall, Samsung added the Galaxy S23 FE to the One UI 8.5 beta program earlier this month alongside the regular Galaxy S23 series.Â
Galaxy S23 FE is receiving the One UI 8.5 beta 2 update
The One UI 8.5 beta 2 is rolling out to the Galaxy S23 FE units in the brand’s home country, South Korea. The update’s firmware version ends with ZZDP, and it brings a bunch of changes over the previous version. The translation of the changelog reads that the privacy alert function has been added.Â
The update also improved/fixed the issue where the incoming call screen loads slowly or a black screen appears when receiving a call in certain conditions. It improved proximity release errors during calls. The update also improves the green lines issue that appears when recording video in 4K HDR with certain app cameras.
The update brings a bunch of changes
The new beta update improves Bluetooth crash issues. Lastly, it improved the multi-touch malfunctions after using the accessibility expansion feature. If you’re a Galaxy S23 FE owner, you can check for the beta update manually from Settings > Software update > Download and install.Â
The beta 2 update is only available for those who have enrolled in the beta program. If you want to give One UI 8.5 beta (based on Android 16 QPPR2) a shot before the stable release, you can sign up for the beta program from the Samsung Members app. However, it’s worth noting that since this is a beta build, things might not run smoothly. There could be bugs and app crashes. Proceed only if you can live with such an experience.
