Samsung’s smartphone plans for next year just surfaced, and they’re quite interesting. According to a report by ETNews, from Korea, Samsung will deploy a new “4+4 flagship lineup” strategy.
Samsung will launch four Galaxy S27 phones and four foldables across two events in 2027
What does that mean? It means that we’ll get four flagship smartphones in the first quarter of the year, which will be followed by four foldable flagships in the third quarter of 2027.
During the first Unpacked event, the company will announce the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra. In the third quarter of 2027, the Galaxy Z Flip 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, and Galaxy Z TriFold 2 will follow.
So not only will the company push out four high-end smartphones in two waves next year, but the second-gen Galaxy Z TriFold is coming as well. If this comes to pass, it will be the most high-end smartphones announced by the company ever, and most phones announced during the two Unpacked events in general.
The Galaxy Z Flip 9 is coming after all
This rumor, at the same time, kind of goes against the rumor that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is the last flip foldable from the company. Based on this, Samsung plans to keep releasing the Galaxy Z Flip series for at least another year.
As many of you know, the Galaxy S27 Pro is the newcomer in the Galaxy S series. That phone will be second in line when it comes to prowess in the Galaxy S27 lineup, right behind the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
The Galaxy Z TriFold was announced back in December last year, and it seems like Samsung will wait for over a year and a half since its launch to announce the second-gen model. The point is, the phone is coming.
