Motorola’s first wide foldable is coming, and we now have its specs to share with you. Before we do, however, it’s worth noting that Motorola already confirmed the existence of the device during the iPhone Duo launch event. That was only a silhouette of the device, though.
Furthermore, we’ve already shared some sketches of the device not long ago. Now, it’s time to check out the phone’s specifications, as I’m sure many of you are interested in checking those out.
This phone is known as ‘razr flex’ internally
According to our sources, Motorola’s wide foldable is referred to as ‘razr flex’ internally and has the codename ‘Parker’. With that being said, let’s get over to specs, shall we?
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will fuel the phone, the same chip that fuels the Motorola Razr Fold. It’ll be clocked up to 3.8GHz. That chip will be backed by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The storage will not be expandable.
Our source mentioned only one storage option for the device. That’s a bit weird, as we usually always get more storage options. So it’s possible that there will be more than one storage variant, but we can confirm the 256GB storage option only.
Motorola’s first wide foldable will have powerful specs and will be smaller than the competition
The main display on the phone will be a 6.92-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1728 x 2364 pixels. The refresh rate will be 165Hz, and that panel will support HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. The cover display will measure 4.97 inches, and it will also be an OLED panel. The resolution here will be 1736 x 1140.
A 5,000mAh battery will be included: a dual-cell battery. We’re still not sure about wired charging, but full-speed Qi2 charging is said to be included, so 25W wireless charging. USB-PD wired charging will be on board, though.
It’s coming with IP48 and IP49 certifications
Motorola’s first wide foldable will be IP48 and IP49 certified for ingress protection, and it will support WI-Fi 7. Bluetooth 6.0 with LE Audio will also be on board. The phone will feature a physical nano SIM card slot, but it will also support an eSIM.
Android 17 will come pre-installed out of the box, while a power/lock button on the right side will double as a fingerprint scanner. There will also be a dedicated AI physical key on the phone.
What about the cameras? We’ll get two of them on the back. A 50-megapixel main camera will be backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit. You’ll be able to get up to 30x digital zoom with the main snapper, by the way.
Motorola’s wide foldable will measure 110 x 149 x 5.8mm when unfolded, and 110 x 76 x 12.6mm when folded. The phone will weigh 215 grams.
Two colors will be on offer
We also have the color variants that it will arrive in. It will be available in PANTONE Coriander and PANTONE Dark Botanical Garden colors. The launch target, at the moment, is mid-December, though that could change.

This phone is coming to compete directly with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the iPhone Duo. It will, unfortunately, be thicker than both of those phones. 12.6mm looks quite a bit thicker compared to 9.7mm of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. It was to be expected it will be thicker, but not by that much.
It will be slightly heavier than the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and a lot lighter than the iPhone Duo
When it comes to weight, its 215-gram weight is higher than the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s 201 grams. However, it will be notably lighter than the iPhone Duo, as Apple’s first (wide) foldable weighs 254 grams. That is currently the heaviest wide foldable, and it’s not even close.
It’s also a bit odd that Motorola opted for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, considering that this phone will arrive at the very end of the year, but there are several reasons that may be the case. One of the reasons is price, quite probably. Using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will give Motorola more room to work with price-wise.
