Apple today introduced the 2026 Apple TV 4K model with a faster chip, hands-free Siri AI, and an upgraded remote. With the upgraded features, the new Apple TV 4K model costs significantly higher than the previous 2022’s model. However, if your existing Apple TV 4K model satisfies you, you can buy the new remote with the Siri and other enhanced capabilities separately. Basically, you don’t need to purchase the entire new streaming box to use the features of the new remote.
Apple allows you to buy and use the new Siri remote with older TV 4K models
The 2026 Apple TV 4K variant comes with the new Siri Remote in the package. The fourth-gen streaming device costs $299, which is higher than the earlier $129 model. Apple will deliver the new TV to the buyers on November 13. If your earlier Apple TV 4K model runs fine, then you can spend just $59 to buy the new Siri Remote.
Essentially, you will get the best new feature of the latest Apple TV without paying for the whole new machine. The decision will ultimately come down to your budget. Buying just the new remote gives your earlier Apple TV 4K model an instant upgrade for a fraction of cost. You can order the new remote directly from the company’s website and the brand will deliver it to you on November 13.
In case you are buying the new Apple TV 4K, then here’s what to know
Apart from the new updated remote, the latest Apple TV 4K variant brings much more upgrades. It flaunts a newer Apple A19 chip, support for the improved Siri AI experience, and built-in far-field microphones for hands-free voice commands. With the new chip, it delivers 50 percent faster CPU performance and double the GPU performance of the 2022 variant.
Additionally, the new TV offers hardware-based AV1 decoding, ray tracing, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6 support. The new Siri Remote looks very similar to the earlier version, keeping the same basic design.
However, it has a built-in speaker and it supports Precision Finding through the Find My application. If you misplace the remote, you can use your iPhone or Apple Watch to find it. So, are you purchasing the entire package or just the remote? tell us in the comments section below.
