Tracking your health shouldn’t feel like taking on a second job. Samsung is updating its Health app to make rest and exercise tracking much easier, cutting down the waiting time to start sleep coaching while adding direct route imports from Strava for runners and cyclists.
Faster sleep coaching and new visual charts
Samsung Health is changing how long users have to wait before receiving sleep advice. Instead of requiring a full month with seven logged nights of sleep data, the app now only asks for three days of sleep data within a two-week period.
During setup, users answer a quick survey about daily habits, covering caffeine intake, alcohol use, screen time, and general sleep quality. Combining those answers with three nights of sensor data allows the app to assign a personalized Sleep Animal symbol and launch a four- to eight-week coaching routine. The program delivers daily habit checklists, like avoiding late-night screens or stretching after waking up, and dynamically tweaks weekly recommendations as your sleep patterns evolve.
Samsung has added a pentagon-shaped Sleep Balance graph to give users a better sense of their progress. This chart brings together five core metrics in one visual layout: total sleep duration, regularity, night wake time, sleep satisfaction, and Energy Score. Daily morning insight messages also summarize the previous night’s rest to show how daily choices affect long-term recovery.
Twelve running levels and Strava route imports
Fitness tracking also receives a major refresh inside the Running Coach tool. Samsung expanded its training tiers from 10 to 12 levels, giving intermediate and advanced runners new benchmarks to aim for. The app builds custom running plans based on a 12-minute fitness test or historical workout logs. When you hit a milestone, new social sharing templates make it easy to post clean workout summaries straight to social feeds.
Outdoor athletes can now import their favorite Strava Routes directly into Samsung Health for running, trail running, and cycling. This removes the hassle of switching between apps when following custom routes on a Galaxy Watch or smartphone.
Worldwide update rollout
Samsung confirmed that these software updates will start rolling out globally to Galaxy devices through the Samsung Health app starting in October.
