The Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max was announced today alongside two other iPhone models. The phone is not yet available for pre-order, though, and the same goes for the other two models.
The Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max will become available to pre-order soon
Apple will kick off the iPhone 18 Pro Max pre-orders on Friday, September 12, so in a couple of days. The phone will not become available for open purchase until September 18, though. That is also when you can expect pre-orders to start arriving.
As a reminder, there are four different iPhone 18 Pro Max options to choose from. All models offer 12GB of RAM, but you can choose from 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage options. The storage is not expandable, by the way.
The pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299 for the 256GB model and goes up to $2,499 for the 2TB model in the US. It, of course, differs in other regions.
It was announced alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo
The Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max was announced alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo, the company’s first foldable. The iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 are expected to arrive next year. Apple went for a split launch for the base iPhone 18 this time around. That’s not surprising considering how good the iPhone 17 turned out to be.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max is fueled by Apple’s new 2nm chip, the A20 Pro. The phone has a 6.9-inch LTPO OLED display, with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
There are three 48-megapixel cameras located on the back of the phone, and iOS 27 comes pre-installed. The main camera offers variable aperture, which is a first for Apple. 48MP ultrawide and periscope telephoto cameras are also included.
