The budget laptop market is seeing a new “boom.” Tech manufacturers are rushing to capture the audience looking for everyday efficiency without the premium price tag. At the Computex trade show, Acer officially threw its hat into the ring by introducing the Aspire Go 15, a budget-friendly Windows 11 laptop that arrives as a direct challenge to Apple’s successful MacBook Neo.
Acer Aspire Go 15 marks the debut of the Snapdragon C budget laptop chip
The most notable element hidden inside the Aspire Go 15 is its processing core. Acer is becoming the very first PC manufacturer to adopt Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon C processor. Built alongside an integrated Qualcomm Adreno GPU, this silicon platform targets entry-tier gadgets. It prioritizes energy efficiency and basic productivity over raw processing power.
To keep the system running smoothly, Acer paired the chip with a 53Wh battery, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4, and a 1080p Full HD webcam for remote meetings. On the software side, the machine includes a dedicated Microsoft Copilot hardware key on the keyboard. This gives users quick access to everyday AI assistance alongside AcerSense optimization tools.

Acceptable trade-offs for a lower price
When competing against a sleek machine like the MacBook Neo, a budget model inevitably has to make a few structural compromises. While Apple uses an elegant aluminum chassis, Acer keeps costs down by wrapping the Aspire Go 15 in a standard plastic body.
The physical specifications also follow a modest path. The laptop sports a 15.6-inch Full HD display with a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. On the inside, hardware limits are locked down tightly; you can only configure the machine with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. An 8GB memory ceiling is perfectly fine for basic web browsing, word processing, and video streaming. However, it will likely give power users pause, especially since modern Windows 11 environments and background AI utilities love to consume memory.
Where Acer easily beats the luxury competition, however, is layout versatility. Instead of limiting you to just a pair of identical inputs, the Aspire Go 15 includes two USB Type-C ports, a traditional USB Type-A port, an HDMI 1.4 output for external monitors, and a classic 3.5mm headphone jack.
The final cost equation
The success of an entry-level machine depends entirely on what it does to your bank account. Acer confirmed that the laptop will drop at an accessible, entry-tier price point later this year. However, the company chose to keep the exact retail numbers under wraps for now. If Qualcomm’s Snapdragon C silicon can deliver solid battery life and dependable performance for undercutting the premium market, this plastic workhorse could easily become a favorite companion for students and casual remote workers.
