The Vivo X500 series debuted in China on September 21st, i.e., yesterday. The lineup includes the standard Vivo X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max. Like every time, the major focus has been on the cameras, but besides that, the Pro models are powered by MediaTek’s 2nm chip, the Dimensity 9600 Pro. Well, hours later, we now have an official confirmation of when the Vivo X500 series will launch in global regions.Â
Vivo X500 series’ global launch is set for October 27
The European launch date, along with preorder details, is now out on the official Vivo global website. The event page shows the launch is set for October 27 at 4 p.m. CET, and there’s already a countdown for that date. It seems Vivo will launch only the Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max models in Europe, but not the standard X500. That said, Vivo didn’t confirm this officially. Additionally, the event page also shows the sale date as November 5.
Besides the X500 series, Vivo has reportedly shared details about the European launch of the X Fold 6. The premium foldable will be up for grabs in Europe from October 1st through Vivo’s official online store. The company will offer an extended warranty and a free Watch GT 2. Additionally, Vivo has also announced the global launch of several new IoT products, including the Buds Clip, Buds Ultra, and Headphone Studio.
Vivo X Fold 6 foldable is also coming to global regions
As we gear up for the global launch of the X500 series, three Vivo phones have surfaced on the EPREL (European Product Registry for Energy Labelling) database. They have the model identifiers: Vivo V2621, V2622, and V2610. These could be the Vivo X500 series phones. This listing reveals the battery capacities, which appear smaller than their Chinese counterparts. We can see their rated battery capacities listed at 6,305mAh, 5,180mAh, and 6,570mAh, respectively.
Going by the previous listings, the V2621 could be the Vivo X500 Pro, while the V2610 corresponds to the Vivo X500 Pro Max. If that speculation holds, the global variant of the X500 Pro Max (V2610) is getting a significantly smaller battery. As a refresher, the Chinese model houses a bigger 8,000mAh cell. Meanwhile, the battery of the Vivo X500 Pro’s (V2621) global edition is the same (typical) as its Chinese version (6,510mAh).
The standard Vivo X500 may be exclusive to China
Meanwhile, the V2622 is harder to identify. A previous IMEI database reportedly lists it as the Vivo X500 Pro, but its battery size suggests it could be the global X500. However, previous certifications identified the global X500 as the V2619 model, so the final name of the V2622 remains unclear. That said, there are reports about the Vivo X500’s global launch conflict, so take this with a pinch of salt for now.
In any case, the Vivo V2622’s EPREL listing suggests a typical battery capacity of around 5,300mAh. For comparison, the Chinese X500 has a much larger 7,500mAh battery. The EPREL listing reveals that all three are Android smartphones with an A energy rating and have non-foldable designs. They’ll also get IP68 protection. The listing shows their battery endurance at 64 hours 31 minutes for the V2621, 53 hours 40 minutes for the V2622, and 72 hours 5 minutes for the V2610, respectively.
