OUKITEL has come to IFA this week showing off a variety of different phones, but one that has stood out to us is the WP600, a smartphone that is designed for gaming and comes with two active cooling fans to keep the phone’s temperatures in check.
Gaming phones are sort of a niche product category still in the smartphone world but they’re nothing new at this point, so why does the gaming phone from OUKITEL stand out? For starters, it’s made by OUKITEL, which is not really known for making gaming-centric phones, but rather very sturdy and rugged phones with huge batteries and flashlights that are also waterproof. And even though OUKITEL has never made a gaming phone before, by all accounts it’s taking the endeavor very seriously.
A gaming phone that can stay cool under pressure and withstand accidental drops
Gaming phones are powerful mobile devices with high-end specs that are capable of playing the most demanding games that developers can throw at a phone. But they’re not very durable devices. Not all of them have an active cooling fan either. This is where the WP600 really grabs our attention because it not only has one cooling fan, but it has two for maximum effect, and it’s built to be a durable device.
It’s waterproof and shockproof, giving it a huge advantage over other gaming phones. Accidents happen, and it’s nice to see a phone brand taking that into account when building a device for gaming. On the spec side of things, the WP600 is well-equipped. It has up to 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, with a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset powering the games. It also has a 6.8-inch 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate. All in all, we are very intrigued with the WP600 because it’s not just another gaming phone. It’s a gaming phone that’s doing things a bit differently, and that’s why we gave it the Best of IFA 2026 award.
