Google Home Speaker was first teased at the Made by Google event in August 2025, with the company sharing more details of the device in October 2025. This is Google’s first Gemini-powered smart speaker and is relatively affordable at $99. While all that’s good, its availability details remained a mystery. Well, if you’ve been waiting for it, we now have a positive development of sorts. Google Home Speaker finally gets a possible release date.
Retailer listing reveals June 25th release date for Google Home Speaker
Google’s new Gemini speaker might launch on June 25th, as revealed by Best Buy Canada’s product page. However, this does not appear on the American site, while the Google Store has yet to update. It looks like Google is missing the spring timeline by just a few days, as spring ends on June 21st. The retailer listing shows only Hazel (black) and Porcelain (beige) colors, even though it’ll also have Berry (pink/red) and Jade (light green) shades.
The actual hardware of the speaker is likely fully complete at this point. The delay could be because of software, as Gemini for Home is still in early access. Since March, Google has been updating the preview experience on existing speakers and displays several times per month.
The speaker costs $99 in the US
The Google Home smart speaker’s 360-degree design wraps fabric around it, which has status lights and a mute switch. With Gemini, you can chat in natural language, get expert help, brainstorm ideas (requires subscription), and control/automate multiple smart home devices. Users can pair two speakers with the Google TV Streamer for a home cinema experience.
There’s also a stereo pairing and grouping with existing Nest speakers for multi-room audio. The dynamic glow from underneath lets you know when it’s listening, thinking, or responding. Google’s new smart speaker will be available in 19 countries, including the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Japan, and others.
