Netflix has started rolling out the much-anticipated Clips vertical video feed to its mobile application. The personalized highlighted video reels section offers a fast and visual way to sample Netflix shows and movies. It eliminates the need to scroll endlessly through menus. The streaming giant has made a video feed to match how users already use their phones, offering them a quick look at content that matches their viewing habits.
Netflix adds vertical Clips feed to improve mobile discovery
Netflix’s new video feed looks a lot like TikTok and Instagram, offering a vertical stream of short videos from various movies, series, and specials. After the update, when you open the Netflix app on your phone, you will see a new Clips section at the bottom where you can swipe through endless bites of entertainment. The company wants to catch your attention quickly so you can decide what to watch next.
If a clip from a show or a movie grabs your interest, you don’t have to leave the feed. You can easily tap the video to watch the full title, add it to your list, or share it with your friends. The new feature aims to reduce the friction between discovery and viewing, which has been a major challenge for content platforms with large catalogs.

The new feature is currently available in select countries
Netflix has started rolling out the Clips vertical video feed in select countries across the globe. These include the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, and South Africa. The company will release the new functionality to the rest of the world in the coming months.
“This is just the beginning of what we’re building on mobile. Our goal is to create a truly great entertainment experience on your phone, for every way you like to watch, listen and play”, Netflix said in a press release.
Netflix also mentioned that it is planning to expand the Clips feature. In the future, the new vertical feeds section will also include podcasts, live programming, and collections based on genres, like romance or specific interests. This means you’ll soon be able to use the feed to explore comedy specials, romance collections, and more.
