Most people read on their phones during short breaks in the day, but staying focused is not always easy. Messages, notifications, and social media apps can quickly pull your attention away, while a bright phone screen can also become tiring. XTEINK takes a different approach with compact E Ink readers that attach magnetically to the back of a compatible phone. You can read while the device stays attached or remove it and use it independently. Each reader has its own screen, storage, and battery, so it does not mirror or extend your phone display. The brand currently offers three models — the X3, X4 Classic and X4 Pro. All three come with a 16GB microSD card, support storage expansion up to 256GB, and offer 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The main differences come down to size, controls, and lighting.
X3: The Smallest and Lightest
The X3 is the most compact model in the XTEINK lineup. It weighs just 58g, measures 97.6 × 63.7 × 5.1mm and has a 3.7-inch E Ink display with 259 PPI, the highest pixel density of the three. Pages can be turned using physical buttons or with a gentle shake, making one-handed reading easy. The X3 has a 650mAh battery, and its screen can also be customized with photos and widgets. There is no touchscreen or built-in front light, so it is best suited to daylight or well-lit environments, although XTEINK also sells a separate magnetic reading light for use in the dark. For readers who care more about portability than screen size, the X3 is the easiest of the three to carry in a small pocket or keep on the back of a phone.  Â

X4 Classic: More Screen, Same Simple Controls
The X4 Classic steps up to a 4.3-inch screen, giving books more room on the page while still keeping the device compact. It weighs about 68g and measures 114 × 69 × 4.9mm, making it the thinnest model in the lineup. Page-turn buttons sit on both sides of the device, so it works comfortably in either hand, and pages can also be turned with a gentle tilt or shake. The X4 Classic has a 920mAh battery, and the screen can show the time and battery level without needing to check your phone. When the device is off, it can also display an image or an EPUB book cover. Like the X3, the X4 Classic does not have a touchscreen or built-in front light, making it a straightforward choice for readers who want more screen space and physical controls but mostly read during the day or in good indoor lighting. The X4 Classic also supports USB-C charging through its magnetic charging adapter. With the XTEINK Base Stand, it can sit beside a laptop or monitor for reading and charging at a desk. The Base Stand is currently included as a free gift with the X4 Classic.
X4 Pro: Front Light and Touchscreen

The X4 Pro keeps the 4.3-inch screen of the X4 Classic but adds two features the other models do not have: a touchscreen and an adjustable front light. The light can be adjusted for brightness as well as warmer or cooler tones, making the X4 Pro better suited to reading in bed, during an evening commute, or in other low-light environments. Physical buttons are still included, so readers can choose between tapping, swiping, or using buttons to navigate. The X4 Pro weighs about 72g, measures 111 × 69 × 5.95 mm, and has the largest battery in the lineup at 1100mAh. It also adds USB file transfer alongside the XTEINK app and microSD card. The XTEINK X4 Pro was also named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026, giving the most feature-rich model in the lineup another notable distinction.

Which Model Fits Your Day?
The choice is fairly simple once you know what matters most to you. The X3 is the best fit if you want the smallest and lightest option; the X4 Classic gives you a larger 4.3-inch screen while keeping the simple physical-button experience; and the X4 Pro is aimed at readers who want the larger screen together with a touchscreen and adjustable front light. None of the three is tied to a particular bookstore, so you will need to provide your own compatible books. EPUB and TXT files are supported directly, while PDF and MOBI files may not be fully supported, so XTEINK recommends converting them through the official app. Books can be sent from a phone through the XTEINK app over Wi-Fi or copied directly to the microSD card, while the X4 Pro also supports USB transfer from a computer. It is also worth checking the magnetic setup and size compatibility with the phone and case you normally use. In the end, the X3 puts portability first, the X4 Classic gives you more reading space without adding much complexity, and the X4 Pro adds the features that make reading easier in a wider range of situations.
