The open-ear wireless audio market is growing incredibly fast. Fitness enthusiasts and office workers are looking for lightweight alternatives to traditional, noise-isolating ear tips. With this in mind, Xiaomi officially launched its first clip-on wireless earphones, the Xiaomi Clip. While the physical hardware targets established open-ear form factors, the software package contains a highly unexpected twist for iOS users.
Xiaomi Clip Earbuds bridge the ecosystem divide
Xiaomi is giving a surprising amount of attention to cross-platform compatibility. The upcoming Xiaomi Clip Earbuds fully support Apple’s Find My network. This allows users to track a misplaced earphone case across thousands of miles using native iOS applications, treating the budget-friendly accessory much like a pair of official Apple AirPods.

Additionally, the earphones offer seamless dual-device smart connectivity. This means you can easily bounce your active audio stream between an Android handset and an iPad without repairing the connection. It is a big win for tech enthusiasts who regularly mix different operating systems in their daily workflows.
Flexible architecture and robust sound
Instead of blocking the ear canal, each 5.5-gram earbud clips gently onto the outer ear lobe. To keep pressure minimal during long listening sessions, Xiaomi builds the clip utilizing a highly flexible memory titanium wire structure. The open-ear approach ensures you stay completely aware of your ambient surroundings during outdoor workouts or office conversations.
On the performance side, the hardware packs an impressive punch. Internally, there’s an 11mm dynamic driver with a microcrystalline metal-coated diaphragm. Backed by Hi-Res Audio certification and LHDC 5.0 codec compatibility, the setup covers a wide frequency response to deliver detailed vocals and deep bass. To counteract the sound leakage common to open designs, Xiaomi uses reverse sound wave technology, keeping your music private.

Battery endurance
The earbuds deliver up to 9 hours of continuous music playback on a single charge. When combined with the pocket-sized USB-C charging case, total battery life stretches up to a massive 38 hours. Fast charging support allows a quick 5-minute top-up to provide around 2 hours of listening time. For voice clarity, the company deploys a three-microphone array alongside a VPU bone-conduction sensor and AI-based noise reduction to isolate your voice in noisy environments. As an added bonus, the buds also support real-time AI translation features for international travelers.
Xiaomi Clip Earbuds pricing
The Xiaomi Clip Earbuds have officially debuted in China with an “early bird” price of CNY 799 (~$117). Its standard retail price is CNY 849 (~$125). The earbuds are available in black, white, and gold color variations. Currently, international availability has not been announced.
