Xiaomi is reportedly working on its next in-house chip, rumored to be the XRING O3. This could power the next foldable from the company, the Xiaomi 17 Fold/Mix Fold 5. The chip will be a follow-up to the XRING O1 from last year and should bring some notable upgrades. Cluing us in on that, a new leak now shares some key details of Xiaomi’s XRING O3.
Leak reveals Xiaomi XRING O3 details with new 3-cluster CPU architecture
In a new report, Ximitime brings some hardware specs of the XRING O3. These were reportedly found by digging through the Mi Code database. As a refresher, they uncovered the Xiaomi 17 Fold/Mix Fold 5 details similarly in the Mi Code database. The leak mainly reveals the clock speeds of the chip and hints at an architectural shift.
Compared to the XRING O1, which uses a four-cluster (Prime + Titanium + Big + Little) setup and a 10-core layout, the XRING O3 may simplify things. The biggest change is that the new chip reportedly drops the extra “big” core cluster altogether and uses a combination of “Prime, Titanium, and Little cores.”
The XRING O1 featured a Prime Core running at 3.89Hz. The upcoming XRING O3 could exceed the 4GHz mark, reaching up to 4.05GHz. Meanwhile, the Titanium cores may run at 3.42GHz. These cores are mainly designed for high-performance tasks.

GPU improvements as well
The report adds that by dropping the “Big” cluster, Xiaomi made the efficiency (Little) cores much faster. The XRING O3’s “Little” core array reportedly runs at 3.02GHz. This is a notable jump from the 1.79GHz of the XRING O1. In terms of graphics, the GPU may reach close to 1.5GHz, up from around 1.2GHz on the previous generation. As for memory speeds, they might remain unchanged at 9600 MT/s.
While the leak revealed the architectural clusters, it didn’t explicitly reveal the core configuration. The report mentions possibilities like 1+3+4 or 1+2+5. But don’t take it for certain, though. Either way, these changes could boost the background processing and multitasking capabilities, especially on a large-screen foldable device where multiple apps are often running at the same time.
