Vivo has just announced its new mid-ranger, the Vivo V80. The phone has been announced in India, so this is a global version that we’re talking about, with global software pre-installed.
The phone has a flat display with a centered display camera hole up top. The bezels around the display are flat and uniform. All of its physical buttons are placed on the right-hand side, while the frame is flat.
The Vivo V80 has been announced with three ZEISS-backed rear cameras
On the back, you’ll notice a camera plateau up top, with three cameras included. There is also ZEISS branding placed there, as this phone is backed by ZEISS optics and expertise.
Now, let’s talk specs. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, which is Qualcomm’s 4nm chip announced in mid-2025. It was a mid-range offering back then, and it still kind of is. It’s the same chip used by the Vivo V70, actually.
That chip is backed by 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and the phone offers 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. This is, unfortunately, a downgrade compared to the Vivo V70. That phone offered up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 flash storage.
Vivo was forced to use older RAM and storage due to component prices
Vivo almost certainly did this because of the component prices these days, especially RAM and storage. The company had to keep the price of this phone competitive, which is why the move had to be made. Other companies did similar moves.
There is a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display included on this phone, and it offers a resolution of 2750 x 1260 pixels. That display’s refresh rate goes up to 144Hz, with a peak brightness of 5,000 nits.
A 7,200mAh battery sits inside the phone, while the device supports 90W charging. Android 17 comes pre-installed on the device, along with the OriginOS 7 skin. An in-display fingerprint scanner is included inside this phone, and it’s an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
The phone offers excellent ingress protection
The Vivo V80 is IP68 and IP69 certified, and the phone supports Bluetooth 5.4. It’s also worth noting that eSIM is supported here.
Now, in terms of cameras. The Vivo V80 features a 50-megapixel ZEISS main camera. Sony’s LYTIA 700V sensor is used here, while OIS is supported with CIPA 4.5 stabilization.
There is also an 8-megapixel ZEISS ultrawide camera included, and a 50-megapixel ZEISS Night Telephoto camera. That one uses Sony’s IMX882 sensor and supports OIS, 3x optical, and 100x digital zoom.
The Vivo V80 comes in Horizon Blue, Sunrise Anthem, and Stellar Black colors. The pricing goes from INR62,999 ($654) to INR79,999 ($830).
