Many Android brands are pivoting toward Pro Max naming schemes to manage costs. However, a major name in the segment looks ready to keep the Ultra lineup alive. Fresh leaked specs suggest a true hardware powerhouse is in development, positioning the Vivo X500 Ultra above the recently announced Pro Max model.
Cutting-edge silicon meets a vibrant display
Details published on Weibo by reliable tipster Digital Chat Station reveal that the Vivo X500 Ultra will run on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip. Built on 2nm, this chip represents a major shift for Vivo’s top tier. For reference, the current X500 Pro Max relies on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro Soc.
Up front, the phone reportedly features a 6.85-inch 2K LTPO flat AMOLED display sourced from BOE. The panel promises a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, thin symmetrical bezels, and rounded corners, backed by a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner tucked beneath the glass for fast unlocking.
Monster battery capacity and camera testing
Powering this hardware package is an impressive battery expected to exceed 7,000mAh. While that is slightly smaller than the 8,000mAh cell packed inside the X500 Pro Max, optimizing the new 2nm Snapdragon platform should still deliver excellent multi-day battery endurance.
On the camera front, Vivo is currently evaluating several high-end sensor setups. Reports indicate the company is testing triple 200-megapixel camera configurations alongside massive 1/1.12-inch main and periscope telephoto sensors. Final camera choices remain unconfirmed, though, but we can expect serious power here.
Target launch timeline and market positioning
According to reports, the X500 Ultra is slated to launch in China between March and April 2027. This timeline aligns with the release cycle of its predecessor, the X300 Ultra.
Global availability details remain unannounced and unconfirmed—even unofficially. Still, for smartphone enthusiasts who love top-of-the-line camera gear and massive batteries, Vivo’s upcoming flagship looks like a device worth watching.
