After leaks and reports, Vivo has just confirmed the launch date for its X500 series. The flagship lineup will debut on September 21st in China, and eventually expand to other global regions. The lineup could include the vanilla X500, the X500 Pro, and the X500 Pro Max. Alongside the date, the company has revealed some key details during the Vivo Creator Festival event.Â
Vivo X500 series launch date is September 21st
From the teasers, it looks evident that the company might retain a familiar protruding circular rear camera module, which is basically Vivo’s signature design. But there will be hardware improvements, levelling up the camera game. Vivo will be continuing its partnership with Zeiss for optics, and we’re sure to see some professional features on board.
There’s also a dedicated page on the company’s official website, allowing interested users in the region to pre-reserve the flagship before the official announcement. Alongside the Vivo X500 series, Vivo will also introduce new ear-clip headphones and the Vivo Watch 6.
As for the hardware confirmed so far, the Vivo X500 will reportedly debut several imaging hardware milestones. The series will apparently be the first to incorporate the new Blueprint 900 image sensor and will introduce CIPA 7.0 standard optical image stabilization across both primary and periscope telephoto cameras.Â
Cameras take center stage
As for videography, the Vivo X500 series will reportedly aim for cinema-grade specifications, with up to 17EV of dynamic range and support for 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding alongside the ACES (Academy Color Encoding System) standard. The Vivo X500 series will use the upcoming 2nm MediaTek Dimensity platform with dedicated hardware-level Log processing. This will allow users to record and output 4K videos at 120fps in 10-bit Log.
The standard Vivo X500 will feature the same primary camera as the Vivo X300 Pro. It will house a 50MP 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT-828 sensor. The primary unit will feature Zeiss gimbal-level stabilization. It will get a 64MP Sony LYT-610 periscope telephoto lens. It is rumored to get a 50MP ultrawide camera.
The X500 Pro Max will reportedly rock a 50MP 1/1.28-inch main camera, a 200MP HP0 telephoto, and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. We will know more details in the days to come.
