Verizon’s Unlimited Ultimate plan is seeing a price rise, just one year after its 3-year price lock promise. The carrier is hiking the price by $5 per month regardless of how many lines are on the plan. The change has already rolled out, but it wasn’t a total surprise. The company had reportedly informed stores in recent days that the price change was imminent.Â
Verizon Unlimited Ultimate plan gets a $5 price hike a year after launch
If you are wondering how Verizon’s Unlimited Ultimate plan can see a price rise when it was promising a 3-year price lock. Well, if you have signed up for the plan before the $5 price hike, you are still locked in to the same old price. This change is for the new customers or those who switch to the plan in the future. Existing users will not see any change to their monthly plan price.
With this change, the new price breakdown for the Verizon Unlimited Ultimate plan is $85 per single line, $77.50/line for two lines, $63.33/line for three lines, and $55/line for four lines.
The price hike comes with two benefits, though. The carrier is adding access to two new features: Identity Secure and Verizon Family Plus. The former is a paid service that gets you a password manager, secure folder, social media monitoring, and other security-related features. Family Plus is also a paid service. It lets you monitor the phones on the account, set limits, supervise screen time, get roadside assistance, etc.
There are two new benefits
These two services would usually cost you $15 per month combined. So, technically, Verizon is giving them to you at a discounted price of $5. Although if you didn’t want either service, there’s pretty much nothing you can do, as you don’t have a choice. The company has baked them into the plan, and the price is going up because of it.
