Samsung has started rolling out its Android 17-based One UI 9.0 update to three additional Galaxy A devices. The phones in question are the Galaxy A55, Galaxy A17, and the Galaxy A16.
The Galaxy A55, A17, and A16 have started receiving Android 17-based One UI 9
Those three devices are now getting the update in Korea, the company’s homeland. However, the update will spread to more markets in the coming days, so you won’t have to wait for long in order to get it.
Even when it arrives in your region, the rollout will be gradual, though, so you’ll need to be patient. In Korea, the update carries the firmware version A176LKSU4CZJ5, in case you’re wondering.
Your phone will notify you once the update is ready to go. However, you can check manually as well and possibly speed up the process a bit. You can do so via Settings -> Software update -> Check for updates.
The update brings some useful features to the table
This is a large update, as it delivers a new version of Android to the phone. It does not revamp One UI or anything like that, though. Some useful features and upgrades are included.
This update makes the Quick Panel more customizable. You can now resize basically everything and adapt it to your needs. Deeper Gemini integration is also included, along with new AI features.
Samsung DeX and Samsung Notes have been upgraded, while Samsung has also added new accessibility features. A location privacy indicator has also been added, and more. We’re only scratching the surface here.
Samsung, in the past weeks, has already kicked off rollouts for its newer and more powerful devices. It’s time to deal with devices that are a couple of years old and those that are in the lower end of the spectrum.
