We now know when the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 could go on sale. This is thanks to a new report that just appeared online.
Key dates for Samsung’s foldables have surfaced, including their release date
The info appeared on a Latvian e-commerce platform, PriceBee. There is a page there for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the listing says that the phone is getting announced on July 22 and that it will be released on August 5, 2026.
Needless to say, if this information is accurate for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, it almost certainly applies to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8 as well. All three phones are expected to be announced and to become available on the same day.
The launch event could take place in London
With that being said, this is not the first time July 22 has been mentioned. A rumor that surfaced a while back mentioned that the company will host its second Unpacked event on that day. London was mentioned as the venue city.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, as many of you know by now, will be the name of Samsung’s new wide foldable. Well, at least according to the rumored info. For some reason, Samsung decided to use that name for the wide foldable, instead of for the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s successor.
The successor of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will allegedly be named the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. These two foldables will both be book-style foldables, but offer entirely different experiences thanks to different form factors.
The company’s first wide foldable has our attention
The wide foldable form factor will be great for video content, both horizontal and vertical. It will also be great for side-by-side app multitasking. When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be wider and shorter than the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and it should be better suited for one-handed use. All that makes it very appealing to me personally, following my experiences with the OPPO Find N and Find N2.
