The Tensor G6 chipset, which comes in Google’s latest devices like the Pixel 11 Pro, has been tested in the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme benchmark and those results have just been leaked online. The Pixel 11 Pro and the other devices in the Pixel 11 series haven’t officially been released, but that hasn’t stopped the results of this benchmark from making their way to the internet.
With Google’s phones not coming out until August 20 officially, one interested user has taken it upon themselves to install 3DMark on a Pixel 11 Pro floor model at their local electronics shop, and they say that the results are “as many expected.” The user who posted the results is referencing the performance of the GPU inside the Tensor G6, and the “as many expected” comment is suggesting that people expected the GPU performance to be poor compared to other flagship chipsets.
The Pixel 11 Pro’s Tensor G6 scores under 3,000 in the 3DMark Wild Life test
Pixels have a reputation for having weak GPUs as per the scores they get in benchmarks like this one from 3DMark, and the results of the Wild Life test most certainly showcase that. As shown by user u/ZombieChrist265 on Reddit, the score for the Pixel 11 Pro in the Wild Life Extreme benchmark test (not the Stress Test version) was 2653. That is pretty low compared to other flagship devices running with chips like the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. For example, the score for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is 7135.
But as it’s being pointed out in the Reddit comments, Google doesn’t design Pixel phones for high-end mobile gaming. It designs Pixel phones for ease of use, camera quality, and a dedicated user experience built around Gemini. A low score in a gaming-focused benchmark test isn’t going to mean much for the average Pixel user at the end of the day. Google’s Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold launch on August 20, with pre-orders having begun on April 12.
