The Motorola Edge 70 Max has appeared on the Wireless Power Consortium website for certification. This does indeed confirm that it will have wireless charging. In fact, the listing shows that it will support 25W wireless charging, which is one of the fastest wireless charging devices in Motorola’s Edge lineup.
Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t give us a whole lot of other details, but it does include a few renders of the device. And as expected, it’s mostly the same design we’ve seen from Motorola in the past few years. It also follows up on the renders that leaked out earlier this month.
Motorola is expected to launch the Edge 70 Max in Onyx Black, Sage Green, and Glacier Blue. Of course, these will be PANTONE colors as well. It’s also expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, like the Razr Fold. So it won’t be a full-on flagship, but it will definitely be a powerful device. It’ll also feature a triple-camera setup, though be careful there as Motorola likes to use sticker-cams on some of its smartphones. So one of these could be a macro camera.

The Android Headlines Take
It’s unlikely that the Motorola Edge 70 Max will launch in the US. And if it does, it won’t use that name; it’d likely be something like ‘Edge Max 2026’. Typically, Motorola only launches one version from its Edge lineup in the US, which has already happened: a mid-range device that is around $500.
The Edge 70 Max is most likely going to be available in Europe and parts of Asia. Which is unfortunate, because this does look to be a very impressive device. Despite it running the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 instead of the 8 Elite Gen 5, I would not expect this to be a cheap device. Not with the current memory shortage. This device could be as much as $999 USD, if not more, depending on the memory/storage configurations Motorola opts to use.
