Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Tab S12 series, and a tipster has just confirmed that they’ll be announced in September. This information comes from FireUniverse on Twitter, who is rather new, so they don’t have an established track record like some other tipsters, but so far he’s been accurate.
Of course, Samsung has released its Galaxy Tab S series in September in the past few years, so it could also be a good guess on their part. IFA is taking place in September again this year, officially September 4 through September 8. Samsung is typically pretty quick to release the new tablets after the announcement, so they should be on store shelves around mid-September.
This tipster is claiming that Samsung will continue with the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and the S12 Ultra, skipping out on the base model once again. They will also continue with MediaTek chips. With the Dimensity 9500 taking center stage this time around.
The Android Headlines Take
Samsung’s choice to skip the base model again this year is a bit interesting, but not surprising. With the Galaxy Tab S10 series, Samsung skipped the Plus model, then with the Tab S11 they skipped the base model. So it appears that now Samsung has decided that they want to go with the Plus and Ultra for its flagship tablet. Which makes sense, seeing as they have a lot of other options, especially in the Tab A and even the FE series already.
An IFA release also makes sense for Samsung. Instead of piling on with its Unpacked event later this month, save a few releases for the Fall to compete with the rest of the industry. September will be a very busy month in the world of tech. With the iPhone 18 and iPhone Ultra releasing, as well as Qualcomm and MediaTek announcing their new flagship chips.
