The compact SUV segment has never been short on contenders, but few entries have had a stranger arc than the Dodge Hornet. Conceived as a genuine disruptor — a compact crossover with real performance credentials, Dodge attitude, and a plug-in hybrid powertrain — the Hornet arrived with serious ambitions and an Alfa Romeo-derived chassis to back them up. It also arrived with growing pains that proved impossible to shake. Now discontinued after just three model years, the Hornet has left behind a glut of unsold inventory and, for the right buyer, some genuinely compelling deals.
